More AEDs = More Lives Saved
The research is clear: Using an AED with CPR within three minutes of cardiac arrest can increase survival rates by 80%. This life-saving combination is crucial in an emergency. Without an automated external defibrillator (AED), the odds of survival drop drastically—and that’s something we refuse to accept.
The more public spaces, businesses, and communities equipped with AEDs, the faster life-saving action can be taken when the unthinkable happens. While more Canadian workplaces and organizations are stepping up, there’s still work to do. Raising awareness about AED accessibility and CPR training is essential, and we’re here to lead the charge with expert-led first aid training and public education.
That’s why every Life Start first aid class, including our youth programs, features hands-on scenario training with AEDs. We want everyone—no matter their age or experience—to feel confident and prepared to use an AED in an emergency. The best way to be ready? Practice. Learn. Repeat.
